Highlights of LifeLine Tribal
- Contains information about the diets, house styles, activity patterns and lifestyles of tribal communities
- Has a variety of versions to target regional differences. To date, these include the Northern Plains region and the Alaskan sub arctic freshwater perimeter community regions. There will be 4 or 5 additional regions in Alaska and several regions in the "lower 48 states"
- Targets the impact of commercial foods on traditional dietary patterns
- Considers the base community setting with its pattern of food sources and dietary patterns and allows use of information about temporary seasonal events
- Considers a percentage mix of traditional and commercial diet
- Can specify the amount of contaminants that could be in indoor or outdoor air
- Can relate to activities by age group
- Includes exposure to chemicals and contaminants while in a sweat lodge
- Reflects the seasonally different activity patterns for the tribal regions
- Considers special health issues in Tribal communities
- Specifies the seasonal differences in types of lodging and exposure
- Tribal risk assessors will be able to enter their own population specific information, independently evaluate the effects of different types or rates of chemical exposures on that population and present relevant findings to be used when federal regulators are evaluating the chemicals and setting tolerances
